“Borrrrring!”
After my basketball game last night we were driving to get some dinner. Bella hadn’t had a nap all day so she was completely exhausted. In an attempt to keep Bella awake so she can eat dinner, Genie says, “Hey Bella, look at that house over there.” Bella’s response, “Borrrrring!”. That was classic. Genie and I both looked at each other cracking up and wondering where she got that from. We don’t know for sure, but she said she got it from me.
She has started to pick up on this so quickly, and she is at the point where you really have to watch what you say around her because she will probably use what you said in a sentence of her own. That is a big reason why I hate the commercial they play on Nickelodeon promoting “The Naked Brothers Band.” They have this song called, “I don’t want to go to school” and during the commercial that’s all you hear them sing over and over again. Doesn’t it seem a little ridiculous to play that song for a target audience of kids ages 3-12? Now once in a while when Bella is cranky in the morning she say, “I don’t wanna go to school!”. Thanks, Nickelodeon…..

New Goldfinger Music!!

The new Goldfinger Album has been released and man, all I can say is what a breath of fresh air. The first two tracks are very reminiscent of the old Goldfinger days and brings back that great feeling of road trips with friends and surfing in the summer. I’m on my first listen with the album, currently on track 8, and it sounds great. Hopefully I’ll be able to see them live when they are in L.A. in July. Perhaps some hot wife of mine will surprise me with tickets.

Bella at the Dodger Game
Last week we took Bella to the Dodger game. This was her 3rd Dodger game, but it’s the first one she’s really enjoyed. She was so excited to see the stadium, and she didn’t want to go home. I will never forget it. The pictures speak for themselves:

Not Much of a Guarantee
Well in response to my last post (Joe’s Guarantee), all I can say is that I got off to a good start as I took USC to the promise land with a win over Nic’s UCLA Bruins with a 64-60 victory. That was the only game we played Friday night, so technically speaking I did win every game we played on Friday. However, we went at it again on Saturday and I dropped 3 straight for an overall record of 1-3. I swear, I must have a lifetime record of 6-25 against him, time to get serious.
The series will resume tonight.

Joe: “I will win every single one.”
My buddy Nic comes over a few times a month for some good ‘ol fashioned competition on the XBOX 360. Usually it’s a few games of NBA 2k8, but lately we’ve been playing College Hoops 2k8. I always go with my Trojans of USC. Well the past few meetings have not gone well at all.
Well tonight we will meet again and rumor has it he is going to go with UCLA as his team. Nothing gets me more fired up than seeing the USC/UCLA colors mesh together in one place. Whether it be real or fictional. Personally, I think he’s making a mistake and will leave my house in a foul mood.
I guarantee that I will sweep our games tonight. Whether we play 1 game or 10 games, I will win every single one.
Results to follow….

Rare Photo Opportunity
Josh and I were able to take a photo with the 1981 and 1988 World Series trophies shortly before the Dodgers played their 50th Anniversary game at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
After the photo I asked Josh if we were allowed to touch the trophies. He said he thought we were. So I asked why we didn’t. His response, “I don’t know, we were nervous?”

Olympic Torch
Perhaps I’m in the minority, but I don’t understand why we are chasing down the Olympic torch as a sign of a protest to China. The Olympic games are about bringing the world together, not separating it even more.
What angers me is the fact that we have people not related to the troubled in China or Tibet whatsoever, and yet they are being mobbed by protesters as they try to carry the Olympic torch to it’s next destination. These people selected to carry the torch probably felt honored and excited about this rare opportunity. Instead of it being a great life event, it has to be ruined by whacked out protesters.
Write a letter, post something on your web page, but don’t ruin the honor of carrying the Olympic torch. These people have nothing to do with the troubles you see in China. There is a time and place for everything, but don’t protest the Olympic games. It’s one of the few things we have left that brings the world together.
