Superman
“Superman”
By: Goldfinger
So here I am
doing everything I can
holding on to what I am
pretending I’m a superman
I’m trying to keep
the ground on my feet
it seems the world’s
falling down around me
The nights are all long
I’m singing this song
to try and make the answers
more than maybe
And I’m so confused
about what to do
sometimes I want
to throw it all away
So here I am
growing older all the time
looking older all the time
feeling younger in my mind
And here I am
doing everything I can
holding on to what I am
pretending I’m a superman
I’m trying to sleep
I lost count of the sheep
my mind is racing faster
every minute
What could I do more
yeah I’m really not sure
I know I’m running circles
but I can’t quit
And I’m so confused
about what to do
sometimes I want
to throw it all away
Controlling everything in site
I’m feeling weak
I don’t feel right
you’re telling me
I have to change
telling me to act my age
but if all that I can do
is just sit and watch time go
then I’ll have to say good-bye
life’s too short to watch it fly
to watch it fly
So here I am
growing older all the time
looking older all the time
feeling younger in my mind
And here I am
doing everything I can
holding on to what I am
pretending I’m a superman

Markos and Sam – Before My Wedding
I’m finally getting around to uploading and editing our wedding video. I’ll post some of my favorite clips as I go along. Here is one from before the wedding started. A little behind the scenes as to what my party was doing before the big moment.

Until Death Do Us Part
Josh sent this over to me today. It’s in one of the album booklets for Avenged Sevenfold. I thought it was pretty sweet:

Neva Rocks Again
If you’ve read any of my previous posts, then you may have come across the good things I’ve already said about Neva. To get you up to speed, you can read this: Neva @ Taco Beach (7/26/07). Well, since she moved up to Lake Tahoe she hasn’t been back to play any shows in our area until Friday night. Of course, it was worth the wait. She sounded great as usual and played for a good 3 hours. It was sweet when she dedicated one of her originals “Only In My Dreams” to me and Genie. That was a song we played at our wedding. The big Neva news for the night was that she is going to be recording an album about 2 weeks from now. Definitely exciting times for her.
Taco Beach is a great place to be. The drinks are good, and the bartenders (Amy and Michelle) will probably remember your name after just a couple of visits. I opted for Long Island’s instead of beer this time. I figure the 3-4 long islands that I drank did the same for me that 10-11 beers would have, you just don’t end up feeling bloated. Genie went with the….damn I forget the name, it’s a mandarin something. She through a few of those back and we both had shots. Here’s a good one of Genie and Neva:

After closing down Taco Beach we ventured off to one of the most interesting/borderline eerie apartment complexes I’ve ever seen. You walk into this place and it feels like you’ve done something wrong, like you are about to walk into a prison cell. Then when you actually go into the unit everything is cement. There’s no carpet, and there is a huge concrete pillar running through part of the living space. Well I’ll probably remember that place for a while and I’m talking about it now, so whoever designed it got what they wanted from me. It’s one of those places that would be cool to hang out in a few times, but the thought of living there is very unappealing. We did have a good time kicking back there. I had always wanted to play Rock Band. If you don’t know what Rock Band is, basically you combine guitar hero, karaoke, and drums into a game. Here I am on the guitar, with Neva on the vocals and Neely giving it her best on the drums:

So, another Neva show, and another great night out with Genie. Looking forward to the next one.

February 5th has been circled on my Calendar for quite some time. It’s a day in which I can help change the direction of our country. For the first time in my life, I will be voting for somebody that I truly believe in. I believe in Barack Obama.
